Dear Blog; I Love You Blog, But...

...you're just so high maintenance. Okay, maybe not high maintenance, exactly, since blogger makes things pretty easy for me in the point and click department. But you and me, the thing we have is magical and fun and I look forward to seeing your face every day. You've helped me meet tons of great people, and help me work out the problems I've had with the kids, and for that I'll always be grateful.

Problem is, these kids need to come first. Poor girls, getting only scraps of my attention while I gallivant around with you all day. I expend all my energies making you look good, when I should be shaping them into the best little novels they can be. And since it's not really a choice between you and them on top of work and family and friends, we're going to have to slow things down a little. Five posts a week was great while it lasted, but now I feel like we've run out of things to say to one another.

We'll always have Work in Progress Wednesdays.

I promise.

NOOOOO! ;)

You have to do what's best for you. But don't think your absence will go unnoticed. I'll miss your shining "face" every day. Guess I'll have to find other ways to harrass you. :)

I so know how you feel. It takes up a lot of time. Three days a week is working much better for me.

I'm feeling the same way. If only there were 35 hours in a day!

LOL, thanks, y'all! I'll probably do the easy posts, blogging about contests and Beta Club posts, but there's just too much going on in my life right now, and writing has been getting the short shrift. Shrift? Shift? Well, regardless, my writing has been suffering. I didn't have much time to work on my urban fantasy this weekend, which is what prompted this decision.

I think I need about 38 hours in a day to accomplish everything I've been meaning to get done!

People who can blog 5 days a week are amazing. I have trouble coming up with things to blog more than once a week, so I'm always impressed by people who can keep it up every single day. :)

Do what's best for you. I'll still look forward to seeing your posts when they come.

You will be missed, Tere, but we all understand where you're coming from. Just don't forget to pop in and say hi at least once a week! :-)

I know just what you're talking about. Blogs are great, but it's so easy to let them take over. Good luck. I'll enjoy reading when you do post.

I hear you. I've had to slow down my blogging time too. Family's first and after that, the WIP. I'm glad you'll always have WIP Wednesdays because I don't want to lose you completely!

Oh, I totally get it. I don't know where all the hours in the day go. I'm definitely addicted to blogging, but I really need to put the girls first. So let's step away ... slowly. It'll all be worth it in the end.

I'm cutting down, too. I realized I missed an amazing contest recently because it was for finished manuscripts and I'm not there yet. That should be my focus, although I love blogging and all the great people I've met like you. It's just so easy for hours to slip by while one reads blogs, comments, comes up with something new to post, etc. I'll be looking for you when you pop up. Hope the writing soars.

I can definitely relate to this. Unfortunately I recently went the other way, and started blogging almost every day instead of only once or twice a week.
