Read Any Good Books Lately?

Here's the problem.

I've got all these great books at home waiting to be read, but I don't know which one to read first. So I offer to you my very first blog poll. (ta da! It's in my sidebar.)

I'm still fighting off stuffiness from this cold, so I haven't been doing much reading, and I know I should finish these books, but for some reason I've been straying back toward my urban fantasy. I think what's scaring me is that there are so many of them all of a sudden, when I hadn't been reading for a while. Now it's like they're ganging up on me, crowding around begging to be read first. So I figure if I tell them to get in line and wait their turn, they'll simmer down a little. But I need an outside opinion.

Tell me which book you think I should read first:

Soulless, Gail Carriger

Fire, Kristin Cashore

The Maze Runner, James Dashner

4th and 5th Percy Jackson Books, Rick Riorden

Just read Catching Fire again

Or tell me in the comments what you've been enjoying lately.

My poor, neglected books thank you in advance. ;)

I haven't read any of these. Some are on my list, so I'll have to check back and see what everyone recommends.

I haven't read any of these, except for Catching Fire, which I loved!

I just finished Shiver, which instantly became one of my favorite books.

I also love the Wake series (Lisa McMann)GONE (the last one in the trilogy) just came out, I finished it in one afternoon. :)

I just got done "13 Reason's Why" as well, which was out of my comfort zone. I like to stick with fairly happy fantasy books. I liked this a lot though. I cringed my way through it because it was so sad. I think it should be required reading in high school though!

Dude, FIRE, all the way. I love that world. I've been reading a lot of contemporary YA lately. There are so many good books out there!!

I've only read "The Maze Runner" out of the books you listed, but it's a GREAT read especially if you're in the mood for mystery/action-adventure. What a wonderful problem to have: too many books to read! :) I hope you feel better!

4th and 5th Percy Jackson books! They're not that long and they're fast reads. You'll knock 2 books down in a timely fashion! Plus, they're fun and don't require too much brain power. :)

I haven't read the others on your list, though Soulless is definitely something I want to check out. Currently, I'm reading A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray, and I'm quite liking it.

I agree with Elana: FIRE!!!!! I am a Kristin Cashore fangirl right now :).

Interesting. I did make it the farthest through Fire before I put it down to work on something else, so I was leaning that way, but I heard such good things about the Maze Runner and the Percy Jackson books will definitely be easier on my poor sick brain...

Argh, what a predicament to have! ;)

Well, I just finished the Maze Runner a couple of days ago, and loved it, so that's what I'm voting for you to finish. I haven't read the others. Right now, I'm reading "Blackout" by Connie Willis, plus I just did a post on my blog about getting my reading groove back at last.

I haven't read any of those, so I'm not going to be much help. Right now I'm reading an awesome story about a little violinist... ;)

There is one book I think you should read, but not for the reasons you might think. I'll email you. :)

FIRE!!! :)

And what a genius idea with the poll. I never know what to read next. I always have a mountain to read through...

ha... "or just read catching fire again"

that made me laugh outloud.

just cuz it's so true! I think I want to read it again right now...

And, James Dashner is a local author so I'll put a vote in for Maze Runner.
