Becca, Julie, I've heard this book was really good, which I thought was a shame--lots of people probably avoided buying it because of the cover "scandal". I felt bad for the author, which is why I'm glad her vision is being represented more clearly in this version.
LOL, Abby, yeah, it's going to be right after I read Beautiful Creatures so that we can talk about it. So that should be in about a year from now. ;) Get ready.
Weronika, I've never seen the British version, and I have to admit the original US cover was eye-catching, if not exactly accurate. I'll have to look that up, thanks!
Elana, you're right as usual--it's what's on the inside that counts! ;)
very nice. if I purchase this book it will be to support the author, not so much Bloomsbury. Hopefully they've learned that we can appreciate truth and culture .. I guess we all deserve second chances.
Oh, I've just posted the old cover on my blog - I just won the book. How funny you posted this at the same time! Like the new cover! Can't wait to read it.
“All writers are vain, selfish and lazy, and at the very bottom of their motives lies a mystery. Writing a book is a long, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand.” ~George Orwell
I'm a YA writer who delves into urban fantasy, paranormal and romance, and who loves reading good books almost as much as writing them.
When not writing—or working—I enjoy daydreaming, drinking tea, and walking in cemeteries. I used to spend the rest of my time checking my inbox for manuscript requests, but am now proudly represented by Rosemary Stimola, of Stimola Literary Studio.

YAAAAAY!!! So much better :D. I'm so happy they fix stuff like this.
Ooh that is such a pretty cover! I don't judge books by their covers but I don't hold it against them when they catch my eye :)
Pretty cover! I'm glad they fixed it.
So you're adding it to your stack? ;)
To be honest, I liked the last one - and like the British version - more, but I still think it's a wonderful shift and will sell well, I'm sure.
I'm also very glad Bloomsbury fixed it.
The words inside that book are delicious! I loved every single one! :)
I'll have to check this out.
I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Tamika, thanks!
If you read it soon, I'd love to hear what you think.
Yay, it represents the character! Hope you feel better soon.
Oh now that's gorgeous! I loved the original, too, but this is much more fitting. Beautiful.
It's beautiful! I'm so glad to see that they finally did it right. Let's hope they learned their lesson (for the SECOND time!)
Oooooh, pretty! Maybe 2 lessons for Bloomsbury will be enough ...
